![]() ![]() My Dealer looked at at it and couldn't believe the design was so poor. So i managed to strip it and once it slipped it was ruined. The adjuster knob is simply a moulded plastic knob to fit the flats - there is no metal insert. The preload adjuster on the shock is a 10or12mm bar with two flats machined onto it. This is a very poor bit of design to be honest. ![]() SW-motech sat-nav - as mentioned, this is a shaped piece of sheet steel which mounts in four places to the cockpit and holds the sat nav - its a great bit of kit for the money (or at any money!) holds the nav solid and is in just the right place below your eye-line without spoiling the view of the clocks:Īnd finally, on my trip to NI with the wife on-board, i managed to strip the pre-load adjuster knob near the end of the pre-load adjustment. The screen is fantastic, if a little ugly! Total still air at upto high motorway speeds - no need to close the visor - i practically never do unless the air temperature is in low single digits or its heavy rain. I had one on the v-strom before, its a revelation. Vosges Mountains - you feel on top of the world here:Ĭouple of other things - you've probably noticed it has a non-standard screen - i fitted a Givi Airflow screen very early on when i bought the bike. Route into Chamonix from switzerland - mont blanc in the background under the cloud (honest!) Grimsel Pass, Switzerland - showing the weather: The S10 was perfect in the alps, the low down grunt giving it the edge over the v-strom i did the route on last year Lake Lucerne, Switzerland - beautiful place:įurkha Pass, Switzerland - terrible weather for this route, but loved it anyway. I'll try and get some pics up - here's one over Shap summit on the A6:Ĭauseway Coastal route in NI - beautiful road: Otherwise i do love to keep it very clean - its always washed following a ride - none of this "mud encrusted ADV" look for me i'm afraid. The GIVI crashers i added before the alps trip as i didn't want a small drop at a petrol station or something to damage the radiator or electrics (which are in the side-pods as you will know if you have one) - the best £38 i spent on it was the SW-Motech sat nav holder which is perfectly fashioned to fit the bike and hold the nav-unit just above the clocks. I've no intention whatsoever of taking it "off road" I put these on before heading to the alps. I've replaced the OE tyres with Pilot Road 4's - which are great on tarmac and in the wet. This includes trip to the NW200, two rounds of BSB with my daughter on the back, another trip to Northern Ireland with the wife on the back and a trip to the Alps over the summer. Ive done the most miles I've ever ridden on a bike in a year this year - about 7500. Also the std keys are rather soft - changing for a different, harder key gives you much more confidence in them. However - they get much better with a shorter key - get a key smith to make a shorter key using a 'KW3' blank - works much better and more secure feeling. It has 3-piece OE luggage which (IMO) easily looks the best luggage for the bike but it isn't massive in capacity and the locks are rubbish. Its a full worldcrosser edition so has all the tarty carbon parts and the `akrapovic exhaust. Got it last xmas when it was just under a year old. I like threads like this as i get to be a picwhore!
